St. Timothy's Annual Christmas Concert

St. Timothy’s adult choir has participated in music festivals in Vienna, Austria, Barcelona, Spain and Rome, Italy.  We represented the United States at the Cantate Barcelona.
We also released a compact disc recording of live performances from our performances in Barcelona as well as from our performances in Vienna in 2011.  Our goals are to grow in number, to grow as musicians, grow closer as a choral family, and grow closer to God as we worship Him and lead others in worship.

      Stephen Ministers at St. Martin's
      ---------------

We are a ministry of hospitality and visitation serving immigrants at Stewart Detention Center and their loved ones

El Refugio is a hospitality ministry, welcoming families and friends of  the over 1800 men detained at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA.  El Refugio offers overnight shelter for families who have traveled great distances to have a short visit with their loved one in Stewart.  El Refugio serves meals, distributes gas cards, and other helpful items to the people they serve.  The ministry sponsors a visitation program so that other caring people besides the family can provide comfort and support to an immigrant who is being detained.  El Refugio is also able to provide funding for books and magazines for the detainees, as well as a a new set of clothing when someone is released or deported, usually after about 2 years of incarceration.  It is a ministry that follows the way of Jesus, by welcoming the stranger--the Way of Love.

Ecclesia Ministries Network and Atlanta’s Church of the Common Ground hosted a weekend of conversation, sharing, feasting, and seeing (sites, need, and church) with a special emphasis on racial reconciliation in our churches and in our work.  The weekend was meant to help us collaboratively think critically and constructively about our leadership of street churches, that we would be encouraged to seek justice and love mercy, walking humbly, outside, with God.

Diocese of Atlanta - Verger Guild Photos

The Vergers' Guild of the Episcopal Church (VGEC) was founded in 1989 at St. George's Episcopal Church in Nashville, Tennessee.  On January 11, 1992 the 8th Bishop of Atlanta, Frank K. Allan called the vergers of Atlanta together to form a Chapter of Vergers affiliated with the VGEC, which would become the second local chapter of the national guild.
On May 22, 1992 St. Bartholomew's - Atlanta hosted a Service where newly elected Chapter Officers were installed.

In 1996 the Chapter was formally named the "Mark Emory Graham Chapter."  Graham, a verger at All Saints' Episcopal Church in midtown Atlanta, was a founding member of the VGEC.
He was instrumental in promoting vergers in the diocese and in the founding the local chapter.

On May 27, 2004 the 9th Bishop of Atlanta, J. Neil Alexander, designated the Mark Emory Graham Chapter as an auxiliary of the Diocese of Atlanta, serving its people in the ancient and honorary function of verger in its liturgies, worship, and ceremonial occasions, and thereby entitled to all rights, privileges, and responsibilities thereunto appertaining.

The Mark Emory Graham Chapter has continued to grow to become the largest and the most active chapter in the VGEC.

Today we celebrate 25 years of the ministry of our Vergers to the
      Diocese of Atlanta
